About:
Working at the intersection between experimental digital and analog technologies, this audio-visual duo creates an immersive atmosphere where sound and light influence one another. Chad Munson’s compositions explore the boundaries of organic and synthetic sound, through chance processing and exact programming. This exercise in deep listening is augmented by Lindsey Rewuski’s reactive live visual performance that incorporates liquids, organic materials, chemicals, textiles and other found objects. Together, they seek to engage the audience through a visceral, submersive, and intimate performance.
Chad and Lindsey have been performing together since 2015, sharing the stage with artists such as Loscil, Crys Cole, and Le Révélateur, and have performed together at Pretty Good Not Bad (Victoria), the_SYNCHRESIS_series (Edmonton), MosoFest (Saskatoon), Bring Your Own Headphones (Winnipeg), Gimli Film Festival, and more.
Chad Munson is a multi-instrumentalist and producer from the Canadian prairies. At the age of 7 he received a malfunctioning analog synthesizer. Listening to the broken synthesizer drift, drone, and distort sparked a fascination with texture that has defined his musical output since. Munson has been producing electronic music since 1998, quietly releasing 9 albums while splitting his time with numerous other projects like Golden Smoke, The Moas, and Grey Light District. Munson has releases on labels such as Muzan Editions (Japan), Fallen Moon (Chicago), Cognition Audioworks (Halifax). His most recent album Sources was released in November 2021 on Muzan Editions and a split with K. Burwash is due on Aural Canyon in 2022.
Lindsey Rewuski is a multi-media artist based in Saskatoon, SK, Treaty 6 Territory. Her work is informed by light art, multi-sensory environments, and 1960s psychedelic light shows. It includes immersive A/V installations and performance that often combine light, photography, painting, audio, sculptural, and video components. Rewuski has projected light at festivals, art spaces, and venues across Canada since 2015, often in collaboration with Munson. You can find more of her work online at lindseyrewuski.com.
